The Venice Research
Consortium has proven expertise in the development, testing debug and
application of Decision Support Systems (DSS) aimed at addressing environmental
problems, such as:
- Estimation of the risks posed by contaminated sites
- Rehabilitation of contaminated sites
- Assessment of the quality of surface water and groundwater
- Assessment of the impact of climate changes on costal areas and water resources
- Assessment of the possible impacts of plans and programmes
on the territory
DSSs are highly interactive
information systems that provide decision
makers with a number of functions that support and improve the
decision-making process. They:
- Integrate innovative
methodologies for the assessment of the pressure,
impact and risk posed by anthropic and natural activities
- Integrate
environmental and socio-economic
information by developing dedicated Multi Criteria Decision Analysis (MCDA)
methodologies that support end users and
decision-makers in the decision-making process.
