Cultural Assests

Cultural Assests is one of main research branches of Venice Research Consortium. The two development areas can be distinguished: restoration and archeology. The research activities aim to define new technologies and methodologies for the preservation, development and use of the cultural heritage.

CVR actively promotes Cultural Assests area with research on innnovative restoration technologies and innovative products for the maintenance of the city of Venice. In this context you find the experimental research that aim to evaluate the use of innovative products and technologies for the restoration and maintenance of historical buildings, expecially on compability of products. Restoration of wet wood and archeological finds are other activities in this area.

The research linked to restoration methods developed an information prototypical with analisys features and decision support system, that lets direct the choice of the preliminary survey and carry out a restoration project.

The traditional diagnostic science joins to this instrument to define the reasons of urban blight through a double system based on:

  • laboratory tests and chemical-fisical analysis on restoration products
  • surveys in situ
